d.i.y. peonies dress

this weekend, i experimented with textures. not too daring (ha!), but something i'm not used to...i've had this vintage dress for many years now, and i can't seem to part with it. i bought it from a thrift store called "jet rag" when i lived in los angeles. i love the colors, the peonies, and silk texture. AND it's the first piece of clothing i have ever altered. the dress was alot larger and actually had pockets, but since i altered it to fit me and i didn't really know how to add/keep the pockets, i just sewed it. i bought the long sleeve lace from a-wear when we were in dublin. xx

oh, it is love

the title of this is post from the band hellogoodbye from their zombies! aliens! vampires! dinosaurs! album. the music has a nice airy, clean, easy way about - simple. just like this blouse i'm wearing. the blouse is one of my buys from a-wear while in dublin and fell in love with it when i saw it. i wore it on our visit to kilkenny castle, which is fitting (no fun intended), as this blouse reminds me of a romantic look. the purse is a cole haan satchel and was my universal purse while on our trip.

if you ever have the opportunity to go to ireland, kilkenny is a fantastic town to stay overnight on your way from dublin to any part of the western or southwestern part of ireland. we stayed overnight on our way from dublin to rock of cashel and dingle. we stayed at the lovely pinecrest b&b. our hosts, helen and liam, are two of the friendliest hosts we have ever met. helen recommended a lovely restaurant called the marble city bar, which has a cute tea room on the first floor and the bar/restaurant is on the second floor. the food at the restaurant hit the spot and after driving (and getting lost) finding the place :), we were ready to call it a night! xx

where the streets have no name

i wore this outfit when we visited trim castle. we initially thought that this castle was a concert video location for u2, but it was actually slane castle. however, as a tribute to an irish band i have grown to love, the title of this post is from one of my favorite music from them. a fun fact about this castle is that if you have ever seen braveheart, you will recognize this castle.

about the outfit, i bought it at a-wear while in dublin. i enjoyed shopping there, but the ticket prices are insane! i wore the dress with black leggings and booties since it was a bit cold. i loved wearing this lace dress/all black outfit with my red scarf and belt. xx
